Three things that set the 2023 Land Rover Defender apart

The Land Rover Defender continues to turn heads two years after its arrival on the market. The design of this vehicle is so eye-catching that you always feel like you're looking at something new when you see it.

In truth, everything about this model is impressive. Its design is so unique that it sets it apart from its competitors. That’s a good starting point when looking at three things that set the 2023 Defender apart.

Styling

When the Defender DC100 concepts were unveiled at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, the eyes of the world turned to Land Rover. The company had just delivered concepts that everyone wanted to own. It took a few years, but the production version that followed respected the spirit of the design from 10 years ago.

This makes the Defender's styling unique in the world. No other SUV looks like it, which is an advantage when you want to stand out with a vehicle.

Three lengths

Few models are offered in three different lengths, but that's the case with the Defender. The 90 version is 4,322 mm long, the 110 model is 4,758 mm long, and the new 130 variant is 5,358 mm long. The numbers 90 and 110 represent the wheelbase length of the models, in inches. The 130 variant also uses a 110-inch wheelbase, with a larger rear overhang for more space and a third row of seats.

Off-road capabilities

The Land Rover Defender is one of the most capable off-road models you can find on the market.

The Defender is equipped with a permanent four-wheel drive system. It combines the best of all-wheel drive with the capabilities of a true 4x4 system. Whether on-road or off-road, the system features constant torque vectoring forward and side-to-side, balancing performance, efficiency and traction. If you need it off-road, shifting the transfer case into low range and exploiting its 2.91:1 ratio will help you get through the most challenging obstacles.

The differentials also do an amazing job and act without you doing anything behind the wheel. Efficiency at its best. That's what the Defender offers off the beaten path.
