What makes the new 2022 Range Rover so special?

The Ranger Rover is the Land Rover brand's iconic model. It's where the company's image comes from. And for 2022, we're getting a new Ranger Rover as the model takes on a whole new look.

There's a lot, but a lot, to get your teeth into. The best way to discover the vehicle is to come and see it at the dealership. To give you an idea of what to expect, here are some of the details that make this new 2022 edition so special.

1 - New architecture

The new Range Rover will be based on a new platform. This promises more flexibility across the range, but also the addition of some interesting mechanical elements. For example, we'll now have a four-wheel steering system. This will translate into greater stability on the road, especially at higher speeds. Then, when the time comes to park, the Range Rover will show the agility of a ballerina.

The air suspension, on the other hand, is connected to the GPS system. It will analyze the road 100 times a second to prepare for what's to come. And that's without counting on the legendary off-road capabilities that have always been guaranteed by the Ranger Rover.

2 - Two engines, hybridity... and the road to electrification.

Initially, two engines will be offered. The first, the P400 version, is a 6-cylinder engine with a turbocharger and a 3-liter capacity. Its power: 395 horsepower. It benefits from a light hybrid system of 48 volts. You'll also have the choice of going with the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 of the P570 version, this time good for 523 horsepower.

Next year, Land Rover promises us a plug-in hybrid variant capable of 100 kilometers of freedom. This model is for 2023. The following year, it will be the turn of the all-electric variant.

3 - A very high-end interior

Inside, we will witness a spectacular transformation. Land Rover has left nothing to chance in terms of quality and technology. The layout of the screens is quite admirable. The unit in front of the driver is 13.7 inches diagonally across and has everything that the traditional instrument cluster had, and more. Then, at the center console, we move to a 13.1-inch surface.

Even better, the latter is going to feature the latest developments in connectivity (Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon. Alexa, etc.).

And that's not counting the 11.4-inch screens in the rear entertainment system, as well as the 8-inch screen that rests at the center console.

Online updating will also be on the menu for many of the vehicle's features. In short, a Range Rover that is more connected than ever.

And more attractive than ever; it's important to mention that.

Range Rover Long Wheelbase Seven-Seat: Why Montreal's Executive Families Are Paying Attention

Most seven-seat luxury SUVs ask you to accept a trade-off. The third row gets the space, but it comes at the cost of rear-seat refinement, cargo volume, or the kind of ride quality that makes a long vehicle feel composed rather than cumbersome. The Range Rover Long Wheelbase (LWB) with seven seats was engineered to reject that compromise. It adds 200 mm to the wheelbase over the Standard... Read more
