Three things to know about the new 2023 Range Rover PHEV

The Range Rover was entirely redesigned for the 2022 model year, bringing you all of the newest technologies combined with the traditional attributes of the Range Rover. A PHEV version will arrive for 2023 and it will make you benefit from the advantages of electric power, with the practicality of a gasoline vehicle.

A state-of-the-art powertrain

The Plug-in hybrid model of the 2023 Range Rover will be equipped with a 38.2 kWh lithium-ion that will power a 105-kW electric motor. This will provide the Range Rover P510 e with the ability to drive for up to 100 kilometers in silent, all-electric mode, at speeds up to 140 km/h. This is sufficient for Range Rover owners to complete 75% of their daily driving without using a single drop of gasoline, provided the battery is full at the start of the trip. The eHorizon navigation data is also used by the hybrid system to optimise energy usage across a journey. By “seeing” the road ahead, the Range Rover is able to determine when to use the gasoline engine or not, in order to provide the best efficiency and to ensure peaceful arrival at your destination on electric power. When the battery is low or you need more power, the Ingenium six-cylinder engine wakes up to provide you with the full 434 horsepower output and a longer range.

The same Range Rover practicality

The 2023 Range Rover PHEV uses clever packaging to retain the same practicality, comfort and off-road abilities as every other Range Rover models. Hybrid systems require large batteries, and this often impacts cargo room or driving capabilities, but not in the case of the Range Rover PHEV. The battery is tucked under the floor of the vehicle, which doesn’t impede on the volume of the cargo area or your comfort. Because it is also contained between the front and rear axles, the battery is well protected from the environment, which allows you to take the Range Rover PHEV off-road like you would with a gasoline powered model. In addition, the electric motor is contained within the transmission, which allows the use of the same Terrain Response system that made the Range Rover famous.

Available soon

The Range Rover PHEV will arrive on the market as a 2023 model, which means you can expect it to become available in the next few months.

Range Rover Long Wheelbase Seven-Seat: Why Montreal's Executive Families Are Paying Attention

The third row gets the space, but it comes at the cost of rear-seat refinement, cargo volume, or the kind of ride quality that makes a long vehicle feel composed rather than cumbersome. The Range Rover Long Wheelbase (LWB) with seven seats was engineered to reject that compromise. It adds 200 mm to the wheelbase over the Standard... Read more
