2023 Range Rover Sport vs. 2023 Audi Q7: More Capability, More Style

The 2023 Range Rover Sport is a truly unique utility vehicle. It offers unprecedented performance and capability in a luxurious, singular package that stands out. While German automakers make SUVs that all look the same, the Range Rover sub-brand goes the extra mile to offer more levels of performance, more off-road capability and more versatility.

Here, we compare the 2023 Range Rover Sport with the Audi Q7.

More performance under the hood of the 2023 Range Rover Sport

The 2023 Range Rover Sport deploys one of the best engine varieties in the industry. The P400 powertrain produces 395 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque and uses a turbocharged six-cylinder engine coupled with a 48V mild hybrid system. This engine is as powerful as it is efficient.

Next, the P440e hybrid delivers 434 hp and 457 lb-ft of torque from a powerful 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine coupled with an advanced electric drive system that incorporates a 38.2 kWh battery.

Finally, the P530 sits at the top of the lineup with a 4.4-liter V8 producing 523 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque.

The Audi Q7 has a 261-hp four-cylinder engine in its base 45 TFSI model. Audi also offers the 55 TFSI, but it makes only 335 hp, which is less than the six-cylinder engines in the Range Rover Sport.

The SQ7 offers more power and makes a nice effort, but it doesn't reach the Range Rover Sport's performance.

The 2023 Range Rover Sport is more versatile and more advanced than the Audi Q7.

The Range Rover Sport is available with the Stormer Handling Package, which adds actuators to the adaptive air suspension to reduce body movement during sporty driving, four-wheel steering and an active rear differential to enhance agility and sportiness in corners.

On the trail, the Range Rover Sport can tackle 45-degree inclines and run in yards up to 35 inches deep.
