Why Choose a Pre-Owned Range Rover?

There are many benefits to choosing a pre-owned Range Rover, as you get all of the luxury and capabilities of a new model at a reduced price. Here is a more detailed look at what you should expect from a pre-owned Range Rover from the previous generation.

Elegance and luxury

The Range Rover has always been known as one of the most luxurious, elegant, and distinctive SUVs available anywhere, making a pre-owned example a great choice for those who want a high-end vehicle on a lower budget. Starting with the exterior, Range Rovers feature a distinctive and elegant design that is both understated and instantly recognizable. Furthermore, the new Range Rover is an evolution over the previous design, which means pre-owned models still look fresh and modern, which is not often the case for vehicles that have been replaced in the showrooms. Moving inside, you can expect to find almost the same level of comfort and technology as in the new model, complete with fine leathers and woods, along with advanced driver assistance and safety technology. For example, most pre-owned Range Rovers are equipped with the InControl infotainment system which comes standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, starting in 2019.

Different powertrains for everyone

The Range Rover has always been available with a wide range of different engine options, which means that there is something for everyone on the pre-owned market. Over the last few years, most Range Rover models sold were powered by either a 3.0L turbocharged inline-six-cylinder engine fitted with a mild-hybrid system or a 5.0L supercharged V8. The six-cylinder engine can be found in models marketed as P400, where it generates 394 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque, while the V8 is installed in P525 and SV P565 versions where it develops 518 horsepower and 461 lb-ft of torque or 557 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque, respectively. In addition to these powertrains, the previous generation of the Range Rover also offered plug-in hybrid and diesel options. By combining a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine, electric motors, and a 13-kWh battery, the hybrid system in the P400e models puts out 398 horsepower and 472 lb-ft of torque, in addition to an electric range of 51 kilometers. Finally, the turbodiesel 3.0L V6 engine offered in the Td6 models generates 254 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque, with a combined average fuel consumption of only about 9,6 L/100 km.

Impressive off-road capabilities

Of course, pre-owned Range Rover models offer the same high level of off-roading capabilities as the current generation, making them a more compelling choice in the used market than their competitors for those who often drive in challenging conditions. These capabilities are the result of a host of standard technologies such as the Terrain Response system that can adjust various settings of the powertrain depending on the type of surfaces the vehicle is driving on. Another feature that improves capabilities while making for a very comfortable ride is the adjustable air suspension, which can raise or lower the body of the Range Rover to clear obstacles or improve handling and access.
