The 2023 Range Rover PHEV stands out in so many ways

Barely a year after the Range Rover was redesigned, the British manufacturer is at it again, adding a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model for the 2023 model year. So, you get all the luxury and capability of a Range Rover, but with state-of-the-art PHEV tech.

How EV ups the ante

The Ranger Rover P510 e gets the familiar Ingenium six-cylinder engine we’ve grown to love from the brand, but then augments that with 105 kW electric motor good for 434 horsepower and a colossal 619 pound-feet of torque. Those are strong figures, but the real takeaway is that the Range Rover PHEV can cruise for up to 100 km on full-EV power. It’s not limited to slow city speeds, either, as it can cruise in EV mode at speeds up to 140 km/h. Meanwhile, you can rely on the eHorizon navigation data to ensure you’re driving as efficiently as possible and finally, you’ll always have the piece-of-mind ensured by the existence of a gas engine.

A Range Rover through and through

This being a Range Rover, all of the capabilities Range Rovers have been known for remain intact; the battery is mounted low in the chassis so it doesn’t impede on occupant space or cargo space, and is placed between the front and rear axles This ensures it’s protected so the Range Rover PHEV can perform all the climbing and water fording tasks you’ve come to expect from Range Rover.

The EV motor is housed within the transmission, ensuring its functionality in adverse conditions as well.

That, and the top drawer leather interior, exquisite detailing and finish and the ability to customize your Range Rover through SV Bespoke means this latest PHEV model is going to be the flag bearer for the brand, that standard that all other Land Rovers – and all other luxury SUVs – are going to be measured against.

So come and visit us for a test drive – you won’t regret it.
