Range Rover vs Range Rover Sport: What are the Differences?

The Range Rover and Range Rover Sport are two very different vehicles, but they share many of the same traditional characteristics associated with the Range Rover name.

The Range Rover

The Range Rover was the very first SUV to offer luxury to its drivers and passengers, and at 50 years old, it remains the benchmark in this market segment. For 2022, the Range Rover has been completely renewed and now includes all of the new technologies that characterize prestige vehicles, while retaining the attributes that have always been unique to it. Indeed, the Range Rover adds even more luxury and connectivity technologies without sacrificing the legendary off-road capability and high level of comfort for which it is known. The Range Rover's powertrains now benefit from mild hybridization when equipped with the 3.0L Ingenium engine

Range Rover Sport

The Range Rover Sport is a sportier model that blends the attributes of the Range Rover with those of a sports car. The Range Rover Sport has smaller exterior dimensions than the Range Rover, which makes it more agile and gives it a more dynamic driving experience. Several engine options are available to help you choose the vehicle that's right for you. The standard 3.0L Ingenium six-cylinder engine is backed by a mild hybrid system that develops 355 horsepower. For even more power, this same engine is also available in a 395 horsepower version. Next, the 5.0L supercharged V8 engine puts 525 horsepower at your disposal and a special version develops 575 horsepower in the SVR model, the ultimate expression of sporty driving at Land Rover.

Which one is for you?

The Range Rover and Range Rover Sport are both excellent vehicles that seem to be aimed at the same buyers, but they each have their own personality. If you're looking for the most comfortable ride possible, the Range Rover will satisfy you. If, on the other hand, you are looking for a more dynamic driving experience and the performance usually associated with sports coupes, the Range Rover Sport is for you.
