Range Rover Evoque 2020 vs. Mercedes-Benz GLC 2020

If you are looking for a luxury compact crossover that makes a statement, the Range Rover Evoque is here. It combines some of the best technology, style, performance and versatility you will find in its class. It also is right at home on the trail with 211 mm of ground clearance and a 60 cm wading depth. Here, we focus on introducing its advanced engines and comparing the results to a competitor, the Mercedes-Benz GLC.

The 2020 Range Rover Evoque has nothing to hide

The AWD Range Rover Evoque trims feature the P250 AWD Automatic, a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine that generates 246 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. It is available in the S, SE and First Edition. It pairs with a nine-speed automatic for enhanced performance and efficient operation, helping models achieve a fuel consumption rating of 11.8 L/100 km in the city and 8.7 L/100 km on the highway. The P250's starting MSRP is $47,950, the lowest among all vehicles featured here.

The Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 is most comparable to the Land Rover's P250-powered trims. The GLC 300 has a higher MSRP of $49,050.

The Range Rover Evoque achieves excellent efficiency at higher levels

The R-Dynamic S, SE, and HSE include the light hybrid P290 AWD Automatic, which is also a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine that combines with an electric motor to increase horsepower to 296 and torque to 295. The P290 achieves a fuel consumption rating of 11.4 L/100 km in the city and 8.9 L/100 km on the highway. The R-Dynamic lineup has a starting MSRP of $53,500, while the GLC 350e hybrid has a much higher starting price at $62,000.

The Range Rover Evoque also has many off-road technologies that the GLC 300 cannot even offer. For example, the 30.6° departure angle, combined with the optional Terrain Response and ClearSight ground view system, sets the Evoque apart in off-road capability. There is also the possibility of wading in the water to a depth of 60 cm. Plus, thanks to sensors in the rearview mirrors, the Evoque can calculate the water depth for you.

The Range Rover Evoque is ready to surprise you with more features that surpass the GLC but also every German rival out there. You can shop for your vehicle online with us. Our representatives are waiting for your call and can answer all your questions.

Range Rover Long Wheelbase Seven-Seat: Why Montreal's Executive Families Are Paying Attention

The third row gets the space, but it comes at the cost of rear-seat refinement, cargo volume, or the kind of ride quality that makes a long vehicle feel composed rather than cumbersome. The Range Rover Long Wheelbase (LWB) with seven seats was engineered to reject that compromise. It adds 200 mm to the wheelbase over the Standard... Read more
