Land Rover Discovery Sport: three irresistible qualities

If there's one thing that's unanimous across the industry, it's that the vehicles marketed by Land Rover are recognized as truly unique. Yes, we're talking about SUVs, as they are everywhere else, except that at Land Rover we've been doing just that since 1948.

As a result, you don't just get your hands on an SUV when you acquire a Land Rover, but on a truly utilitarian vehicle. In fact, many of its qualities have to do with its off-road capabilities, or what it allows its owners to do when they're out and about in the great outdoors.

Let's take a look at three great features of the Land Rover Discovery Sport, including a few things that relate to what it offers when you're off the beaten path.

1 - Off-Road Capabilities

You really have to get behind the wheel of a Land Rover product out of the box to understand how comfortable Land Rover vehicles are when there's no asphalt under the wheels. That's largely due to the Terrain Response 2 system, which allows the Discovery Sport to adapt its behaviour to the road conditions it encounters. In fact, the system offers four modes and adjusts as needed to ensure maximum traction and optimal torque distribution.

Then, if you need to cross a body of water, the vehicle will warn you if you're approaching the fording ability it allows, all to avoid getting stuck in the mud. Also, the Discovery Sport offers a towing capacity of 2500 kg (5512 pounds). In short, the Discovery Sport lets you get off the road with confidence.

2 - The Activity Key

Do you often worry about losing your keys when you're outdoors doing your favourite outdoor activities? If so, the Discovery Sport has the perfect solution for you with the Activity key. Available as an option, it comes in the form of a sturdy waterproof wristband that you can put on your wrist. With it, you can leave your keys inside the vehicle, in a safe place, and start your adventure without fear of losing your keys. When you return to your Discovery Sport, the wristband simply allows you to access your vehicle. Ingenious, really.

3 - Interior Configuration

With a Discovery Sport, you have only one desire: to hit the road. Whether it's for a weekend in a luxury hotel or a week of camping far from civilization, the interior configuration offers many possibilities. You can raise all the seats to enjoy seven places. By putting the third-row seats down, it gives you access to five seats and a respectable cargo volume of 1,179 litres. With the rear centre seat out of the way, you can load long objects and you see the total volume increase to 1,302 litres. You can also eliminate one of the rear seats by folding down a seat, increasing the volume to 1,548 litres. Then, if you don't care about the second-row seats, you fold them down and free up 1,794 litres for loading.

Honestly, it's hard to ask for more. To find out more, a visit to the dealership is a must.
