How the Terrain Response System Can get You Through Winter

New Land Rover vehicles are known for their comfort and luxury, but they also kept – and improved legendary off-road capabilities. Several cutting-edge technologies help Land Rover models handle the road in winter conditions, including the Terrain Response system.

The patented Terrain Response system offers a variety of driving modes so that the driver can choose a preferred traction style for the terrain type experienced. Land Rover also enables owners to opt for the more advanced Terrain Response 2 system.

Although Terrain Response operates in all seasons and terrains, there are several modes that are very effective for winter driving. Comfort mode is one of the most frequently used modes. It is also called Normal or General Mode. During the winter, it can be used in rain or slight snow on normal roads.

Grass, Gravel and Snow mode is recommended when the road becomes very slippery roads and when snow becomes deep. It is also effective when encountering slippery conditions on grades.

Varying climate causes unpredictable weather and roads. It's not only snow and ice you may have to worry about, but sudden temperature changes that cause unstable road conditions clogged with mud, sand and other debris.

Mud & Ruts mode set your Land Rover to handle muddy and waterlogged areas and pits caused by other vehicles. It is also effective when crossing shallow water, which is useful in late winter when snowy areas begin to melt and cause runoff and elevated creeks. There are several other modes available in Terrain Response.

Terrain Response 2: let your Land Rover’s expertise do the work

Terrain Response 2 automatically changes the parameters of various systems and the behavior of the vehicle under different conditions. It electronically configures the transmission, suspension, and more in virtually any driving condition. Engineers tested this system in 20 countries in temperatures as low as -40 degrees in numerous terrains to ensure the system made the best configurations possible for each given situation.

Terrain Response and Terrain Response 2 will help you get through winter's driving challenges by applying the most effective traction configuration in many conditions.

The Terrain Response set of technologies may vary with each model, so you can inquire when you shop for your Land Rover online with us. Our representatives are waiting for your call and can answer all your questions about Terrain Response, Terrain Response 2 and other Land Rover Features.

Discovery Sport Beach Days Pack: What's in It and How Montréal Families Actually Use It This Summer
