How does the 2023 Range Rover compare to the 2023 Cadillac Escalade?

In the category of full-size luxury SUVs, there are several quality players. There are many legendary names, too, from Land Rover and Cadillac, with the Range Rover and Escalade respectively.

How do the two compare? Very well, but to the advantage of the British model.

The following examples speak for themselves.

The story

For a model to reach full maturity, it takes time. It can be great from the start, but the decades tend to make it a rock. With the Escalade, we're talking about a quarter-century-old product from Cadillac. It's starting to look interesting, admittedly.

However, the Range Rover benefits from an expertise that began its development in 1948. So, it's been over 70 years that we've been improving our approach with this vehicle. Once you get behind the wheel, you realize how far ahead of the curve it is in terms of refinement.

Off-road capabilities

Needless to say, Land Rover models are designed for off-road driving. While the Cadillac Escalade is a capable 4x4 vehicle, it unfortunately couldn't keep up with a Range Rover off the beaten path. Many will tell you that buyers of these vehicles don't venture far from paved roads. That's true, but Land Rover's capabilities are still superior and can be exploited at other times as well, such as during a blizzard in winter.

PHEV version

Finally, another example of the Range Rover's superiority is under the hood, where we find a plug-in hybrid version on the menu. The latter even offers a range of 77 kilometers, which is more than respectable. For those who want to reduce their footprint, this is a great way to do it.

The Escalade doesn't offer this kind of solution, which is highly sought after by consumers.

For a more in-depth comparison, we invite you to try the two models. You'll quickly see that despite its qualities, the Cadillac Escalade remains a model that aspires to be like the Range Rover.
