All-new 2022 Range Rover Bows With Impressive Luxury and Features

The all-new 2022 Range Rover was introduced to the market this week, and brings with it even more luxury, refinement, technology, and style than the model it will replace. The Range Rover has long been considered the king of sport utility vehicles, and this new generation will have no trouble holding on to the crown.

A Range of Powertrain Options will be Offered on the 2022 Range Rover

The Range Rover will come in a variety of models and versions, all of which will be powered initially by a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 that delivers 523 horsepower and 533 pound-feet of torque. Right out of the gate the 2022 Range Rover will offer more power and deliver more performance than its closest competitors. It promises to reach 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds which is truly exceptional.

Like all past Range Rover models, the 2022 Range Rover will deliver its performance in a linear, refined way. It has always been meant to offer its owners no-compromise performance meaning that it accelerates and passes with complete control and confidence, but never in a way that will negatively impact the onboard experience in any way. The Range Rover remains poised, refined, in control and perfectly confident just like its driver and passengers on the road.

The new Range Rover will welcome other powertrain options to the lineup down the road including hybrid and plug-in hybrid options. There is a mild-hybrid system which attaches to a 3.0-litre turbocharged six-cylinder that delivers 395 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. This engine will eventually be paired with a larger 141-horsepower electric motor that takes its power from a 31.8 kWh battery that will offer up to 100 kilometres of all-electric range (!). Eventually, the new Range Rover will be offered with a fully-electric model, probably for the 2024 model year.

An even more luxurious interior

Current Range Rover owners will discover an even more luxurious and refined cabin in the 2022 model. Although the design will be familiar, the components are upgraded. For starters, there is a range of new materials in the Range Rover including intricate veneers, available ceramic trims in the top-of-the-line SV trim, and even a range of wool blends for the upholstery.

Moreover, the Range Rover gains a new third row for 2022, something that has never been done on a Range Rover before. The third-row isn’t just for show either, it is genuinely spacious back there with room for tall adults to spend hours. It will be available in the long wheelbase version.

The new 2022 Range Rover delivers impressive luxury inside, but the true luxury it offers can be found in its ability to do just about anything. The Range Rover can still venture off the beaten path, offering impressive ground clearance (11.6 inches) that can be adjusted over a 5.7-inch range thanks to an adjustable suspension. The Range Rover also features a water wading mode that raises the suspension and allows a depth of up to 35.4 inches in water.
