A Land Rover Defender SVR with more than 500 horses?

Now that the Land Rover Defender is back, rumors are already popping up for a possible SVR high-performance version. According to several British publications, Land Rover is already preparing an SVR version of the new Defender presented in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

According to these publications, the Land Rover Defender SVR would be powered by a 4.4-liter V8 twin-turbo engine developing more than 500 horsepower. Land Rover would not use the 5.0-liter V8 developing 550 horsepower as in other models SVR, but the alternative would certainly provide ample power. Imagine, a small SUV like the Land Rover Defender with over 500 horsepower? Now that would be a sight to see.

The Land Rover Defender will hit the market next year. It marks the comeback for the Defender name which has long been synonymous with high performance in off-road driving.
