2022 Range Rover Sport vs. 2022 BMW X6: Expand Your Adventures and Style

Sporty yet with Land Rover functional DNA, the 2022 Range Rover Sport offers a diverse selection of models that meet the tastes of a large cross-section of luxury SUV buyers. Each Sport model also is generously equipped with Land Rover's advanced technologies, special conveniences, and special comfort.

Here, we compare the Range Rover Sport to the 2022 BMW X6.

The 2022 Range Rover Sport keeps its lead in the powertrain competition

With seven outstanding models, the Range Rover Sport offers more options. This includes four advanced powertrains, which we introduce here.

The Range Rover Sport begins the engine range with the P360 3.0-litre six-cylinder gas MHEV that produces 355 hp and 365 lb-ft of torque. It is available on the SE and HSE Silver models. When you need a little more, the P400 3.0-litre six-cylinder gas MHEV develops 395 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque in the HST.

If breaking the 500 hp barrier is important, the Range Rover Sport features a 5.0-litre eight-cylinder supercharged engine that generates 518 hp and 461 lb-ft of torque in the HSE Dynamic and Autobiography Dynamic. Moving even higher, the 5.0-litre eight-cylinder supercharged gas SVR generates 575 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque in the SVR and SVR Carbon Edition models.

Power in the X6 lineup has a more limited selection. The X6 xDrive40i includes a turbocharged 3.0-litre six-cylinder that produces up to 335 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque. Although the X6 provides the M50i and M Competition models with marginally more horsepower, the Range Rover Sport flexes with more powertrain availability and performance.

The 2022 Range Rover Sport delivers more comfort

The 2022 Sport continues its lead over the X6 with more front and rear shoulder room and rear more leg and head room. Family, friends and business associates will applaud the extra room.  More comfort means you can go farther on new adventures in the Sport. Each model features the DNA of its all-terrain heritage and even features a wading depth of 850 mm. Try wading that high in a 2022 BMW X6. The 2022 Range Rover Sport will deliver you to more places in comfort and luxury.
