2022 Range Rover Evoque vs. 2022 Lexus NX: Top Power, Agility, and Dynamics

The Evoque is one of the most popular Land Rover vehicles on Canadian roads today. It balances comfort and agility while being ready for adverse conditions with the standard Terrain Response 2 system. It also makes available the innovative Adaptive Dynamics system, which tightens body control for even better agility and handling in a subcompact package.

Here, we compare it to another compact luxury SUV, the Lexus NX.

The Range Rover Evoque wins the power competition

Most Range Rover Evoque models feature the P250 engine, which is a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder that outputs 246 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. This engine right out of the gate delivers more performance than the base Lexus NX 250 which has just 203 horsepower. No question, you will notice the difference on the road.

The other option in the Evoque lineup is the P300 engine, which is a mild hybrid powertrain designed to deliver exceptional power while also being refined. It features a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that works with an electric motor to increase efficiency and horsepower to 296 and torque to 295.  All Evoque drivetrains include a nine-speed automatic transmission.

Ultimately, when comparing apples and apples, the Range Rover Evoque gives you more power for less money, and you will have more fun on the road. The Evoque also feels more confident when passing and accelerating.

The Range Rover Evoque is tuned for agility

The Evoque features the available Adaptive Dynamics system. It constantly senses and applies the best damper settings that optimize comfort and agility. It also incorporates Torque Vectoring that uses controlled braking to reduce understeer. And when it's time to go off-road, Active Rear Locking Differential boosts traction and grip.

The Evoque also features Terrain Response 2. This well-known system intelligently monitors driving conditions and automatically selects the best terrain setting. This offers Canadian drivers the confidence to drive on gravel, dirt, rocks and other terrain with a peace of mind.

The NX lineup only includes Dynamic Torque Control and a manual Drive Mode Select, but no advanced performance systems similar to the ones offered by the Evoque above.

The 2022 Range Rover Evoque has many other advanced features that surpass all rivals in the segment. You can shop for your car online with us. Our representatives are waiting for your call and can answer all your questions.
