However, there are a few differences and advantages on one side or the other that may influence your purchase decision.

The Range Rover Evoque adds a little bit of power

The Land Rover Discovery Sport and the Range Rover Evoque share some mechanical characteristics. Indeed, you will find the best in Land Rover engineering under the hoods of these two SUVs. The base engine used in both vehicles is the P250, which us a powerful four-cylinder, 2.0-litre gas engine that deploys 246 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque.

This is plenty of performance to take you and your family anywhere, whether you’re zipping around the city or taking a road trip to your next adventure. The Range Rover Evoque adds another powertrain, which is the P300. This is still a four-cylinder, 2.0-litre turbocharged unit, but power has been bumped up to 296 horsepower, enabling the Range Rover Evoque to go from zero to 100 km/h in only 6.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 242 km/h.

While both vehicles offer plenty of comfort for all passengers, the Land Rover Discovery offers a 5+2 configuration which can become useful if you want to bring along more people. It also offers more cargo volume. For example, you will find a total of 1,574 litres of cargo volume behind the first row, compared to 1,156 litres in the Range Rover Evoque.
