The P340 engine in the R-Dynamic S deploys 335 horsepower with its six-cylinder, turbocharged engine. The R-Dynamic HSE with the P400 engine offers 395 horsepower and a 0-100 km/h time of 5.5 seconds.
The main engine in the BMW X6 is a six-cylinder 3.0-litre turbo engine that outputs 335 hp. This is similar to the Velar’s P340 engine, but this base X6 starts at just over $80,000. The P340-equipped Velars starts at just $73,000, which is much less costly for the same amount of power.
All in all, the Velar supplies plenty of horsepower, at a better price.
The 2021 Range Rover Velar innovates
While the BMW X6 is more like a typical mall crawler, the Velar boasts a complicated yet very useful set of skills that becomes very useful when wandering off the beaten path. For example, the standard All-Terrain Response system optimizes the engine, gearbox, differential and other systems to handle any type of terrain.
