2021 Range Rover Sport 2021 vs. 2021 Lincoln Aviator: The Best Range of Performance and Efficiency

The 2021 Range Rover Sport lineup offers many options for premium luxury SUV buyers. From diesel efficiency to hybrid power and then raw gasoline horsepower, there is a powertrain waiting for you. Combine this with the Range Rover's style, technology, and comfort, and you may just own the perfect SUV.

Here, we compare the 2021 Range Rover Sport to the 2021 Lincoln Aviator.

The 2021 Range Rover Sport makes a point with efficiency

The Range Rover Sport features many powertrains that are strategically designed to meet a wide cross-section of driving needs. The Lincoln Aviator offers two engines.

Available with the Range Rover Sport SE and HSE Silver, the 3.0-litre TD6 Diesel has a torque output of 443 lb-ft, creating a response that should be experienced. The TD6-equipped Sport models feature the best fuel economy in this comparison, achieving a consumption rating of 10.7 / 8.3 L/100 km (city/highway).

The Aviator includes two powertrain options, starting with a twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 engine that produces 400 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque. The Aviator Grand Touring adds an electric motor with the standard engine that produces 494 combined horsepower and 630 combined lb-ft of torque. However, the Range Rover Sport offers several more options.

The Range Rover Sport's P400 3.0-litre six-cylinder gas MHEV offers 395 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque. The 2.0-litre P400e PHEV system nets 398 horsepower and 472 lb-ft of torque with the HSE Silver and Autobiography Dynamic models. Both engines compete with the Aviator's standard engine output.

The 2021 Range Rover Sport is king of horsepower

The Range Rover Sport also has two powertrains that produce more horsepower than the Aviator's best. The HSE Dynamic and Autobiography Dynamic make available a 5.0-litre eight-cylinder supercharged engine that produces 525 horsepower and 461 lb-ft of torque. The most powerful engine in the lineup is the 5.0-litre eight-cylinder supercharged gas SVR that generates an effortless 575 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. It is offered with the SVR and SVR Carbon Edition models.

The Range Rover Sport offers much more than just power. With more style, equipment and off-road capabilities than the Aviator, it constitutes a much better choice in the segment.
