2021 Land Rover Discovery vs. Other Luxury SUVs - What Makes it Different

The Discovery is a refined luxury SUV that features the unique Land Rover design DNA. It is ready to drive on many surfaces, including areas where there’s quite a bit of water. There's also room for seven with plenty of technology and versatility. Here, we talk about how the Discovery differs greatly from other SUVs in its class.

The 2021 Land Rover Discovery is a true adventurer

The Land Rover Discovery is designed for best performance on many surfaces throughout Canada. It features a host of technology and other equipment that combine to conquer new territory.

Technology such as Terrain Response 2 delivers driving several modes that adapt the Discovery to virtually any terrain type encountered in Canada. When on standard roads, General mode adapts to dry, wet or roads with light snow. Grass, Gravel and Snow mode helps you endure deep snow and during other times of the year when you are out in the field or trekking over gravel. Mud & Ruts mode is great for attacking mud and crossing shallow water—perfect for many areas.

Our northern regions feature many shallow water crossings, and the Discovery is built to handle them. The Wade Sensing feature alerts you if the water approaches the maximum wading depth of the vehicle.

As you continue an off-road adventure, Clearsight Ground View enables you to have a view of the ground underneath of the hood. This allows you to choose the best path around rocks and other hazards as the Discovery slowly makes its way down the trail.

The 2021 Land Rover Discovery has other hidden capabilities

The Discovery has an outstanding towing capacity of up to 3,720 kg. That's plenty for a large camper, boat, or other recreational vehicles. Advanced Tow Assist adds confidence so you can tow a wider range of trailers that expand what you can accomplish with one SUV.

Inside, the Discovery is as convenient as it is capable. Right behind the steering wheel is a 12.3-inch Interactive Driver Display that provides high-definition 3D mapping. A full-colour head-up display is also available. With many hidden compartments, all occupants have plenty of storage. The generous amount of USB charging ports keeps screens fresh and passengers occupied. The full-size seats are flexible and provide many configurations that let your family bring along important cargo.

Range Rover Long Wheelbase Seven-Seat: Why Montreal's Executive Families Are Paying Attention

Most seven-seat luxury SUVs ask you to accept a trade-off. The third row gets the space, but it comes at the cost of rear-seat refinement, cargo volume, or the kind of ride quality that makes a long vehicle feel composed rather than cumbersome. The Range Rover Long Wheelbase (LWB) with seven seats was engineered to reject that compromise. It adds 200 mm to the wheelbase over the Standard... Read more

Range Rover's London-Inspired Editions Arrive in Montreal: Introducing the Evoque Hoxton and Velar Belgravia

Range Rover has drawn design inspiration from London for decades. The Linley Edition, unveiled in Park Lane in 1999, channelled Mayfair sophistication. The brand's 50th-anniversary collaboration with Savile Row tailor Henry Poole & Co. celebrated the city's sartorial heritage by weaving a custom fabric inspired by the original Range Rover interior.
