2020 Land Rover Defender: the return of a legend

The Land Rover Defender is probably the most recognized and legendary model ever built by Land Rover and it’s now back. The new 2020 Land Rover Defender was introduced earlier this month at the Frankfurt International Auto Show and was named the undisputed star of the first major show of the year.

Visually, the 2020 Land Rover Defender’s style immediately reminds us of the previous Defender. The model introduced in 1948 has always been linked to the past with its technologies that hadn’t evolved much over the decades. This time, the style is reminiscent of the past while the technologies are more than modern.

Two versions of the 2020 Land Rover Defender

The 2020 Land Rover Defender will be available in two versions that refer to the wheelbase of the model. The 90 models have a smaller wheelbase and only 2 doors while the four-door models will be the 2020 Land Rover Defender 110. Although the new Defender will be a luxury vehicle with impressive comfort and luxury features that we want in our luxury SUV, it remains a formidable SUV far from the beaten path.

The 31-degree approach angle makes it possible to skip important gradients without catching the underside of the vehicle while the 40-degree departure angle makes it possible to climb very steep slopes without hitting the rear part of the SUV on the ground.

The 2020 Land Rover Defender will be powered by a 2.0-liter Ingenium four-cylinder engine that develops 296 horsepower while the premium engine will be a 3.0-liter engine developing 395 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque.

The Land Rover Defender will also offer advanced features such as the Terrain Response system, an imposing center screen with SnapDragon technology that improves the responsiveness of the infotainment system and options that protect your vehicle in off-road driving such as undercarriage protection plates.

The new Defender arrives in March with a starting price of $ 65,300.

Range Rover Long Wheelbase Seven-Seat: Why Montreal's Executive Families Are Paying Attention

The third row gets the space, but it comes at the cost of rear-seat refinement, cargo volume, or the kind of ride quality that makes a long vehicle feel composed rather than cumbersome. The Range Rover Long Wheelbase (LWB) with seven seats was engineered to reject that compromise. It adds 200 mm to the wheelbase over the Standard... Read more

Range Rover has drawn design inspiration from London for decades. The Linley Edition, unveiled in Park Lane in 1999, channelled Mayfair sophistication. The brand's 50th-anniversary collaboration with Savile Row tailor Henry Poole & Co. celebrated the city's sartorial heritage by weaving a custom fabric inspired by the original Range Rover interior.
